Anyone Can Get An Athletes Foot
Athletes Foot or Tinea Pedis Is not a condition that affects only athletes, it can affect any regular normal every day people just as well. Whether you are a football ace, a Hollywood starlet or even a couch potato, athletes foot is an infection for everyone!
Athletes Foot is a fungal infection just beneath the skin that thrives in moist and damp surroundings. First it begins as scaling of your skin between the toes, and the skin can become soggy-ish too. Then it can chip and peel and you may land with small blisters. We should also keep in mind that the whole area may become red and sore and almost always inflamed. You can imagine it will not be a pretty site.
Of course, there are medications, but there are also home remedies you will be able to use just as easily. For example, Calendula, a flowering herb, is anti-bacterial and also anti-inflammatory. Using Calendula cream will help skin heal and reduce the inflamed areas.
Olive Leaf Extract is known as a "broad spectrum anti-microbial agent." These leaves have Oleuropein which is very effective against infectious and virulent microbes. Which makes for the perfect anti-fungal athletes foot fighter.
Make a baking soda, i.e., bicarbonate of soda paste. Take 1 tablespoonful of baking soda and add a little lukewarm water. Rub that paste all over the site of your fungus. Subsequently, rinse thoroughly and finish with a light dusting of cornstarch powder.
Air them out! Maintain your feet as dry as possible, especially between the toes. Your piggies need to be ventilated and guess what, so do your sneakers. Remove the laces and prop open the tongue and let them be in the sun to completely air out. Even wipe down your sandal straps to get rid of any fungi-carrying dead skin leftovers. Remember, the bacterium lives in "moist" surroundings. So do not give it a chance to replicate and grow.
